The goal of this project was to set up a wireless communication between a laptop and a Bluetooth module. This module was connected to the Xilinx Spartan3E FPGA board to control some standard outputs via the laptop. Via the labVIEW software by National Instruments, we have programmed the FPGA on the Xilinx Spartan3E FPGA board.
To give the project a realistic and applicable context, we added a small domotics application to the project. So it will be possible to measure the temperature via the laptop on a different location. Also, we added an PDA to the project. With this PDA, you will also be able to check the temperature in another room.
As a request from our external promoter, we developed a small hardware application. This was developed with Multisim and Ultiboard. The hardware application will consist of a timer and counter IC. It will be possible to manipulate some of the inputs of these IC via a laptop. The counter value will be displayed on the Xilinx Spartan3E FPGA board.
