Accenture is a consultancy firm that was founded in 1953, in one shape or another. The current name of Accenture was adopted in 2001 and is derived from "Accent on the Future". Internally, there are several branches; a recently founded branch is "Mobility". I completed my internship with an emphasis on this branch.
My application existed out of an iOS1 application that uses Sybase unwired Platform (SUP) to connect to a SAP server. The iOS application displays personal information (first name, last name, marital state, bank details, address, family members, etc.).
My project consisted of four parts:
1. Debugging the web portal and figuring out what it does and how the system works.
2. Learning to use the SAP GUI and finding the correct BAPIs2.
3. With SUP create MBOs3, deploying them on the SUP server and generating iOS code.
4. Connecting the iOS application with the backend server and retrieving this information.
The knowledge I have gained and new technologies I have experienced during this internship are the following:
SAP, SUP, BAPIs, ABAP's4, iOS, ...
I was able to master these niche languages and ideologies during the nine-week internship at Accenture.
